Drew Gallagher, the scrappy point guard for the Holy Spirit boys basketball team, always thought he had big shoes to fill when he became a senior. Looking up to older players, such as Tyler Jones, Gallagher couldn’t help but think about how much more skilled the upperclassmen were than himself at the time.
But as he prepares to graduate this spring, what Gallagher is glad to know is that he has left just as impressive a standard for the future legends of Spirit basketball as his predecessors did for him.
“When we lost Tyler Jones, we knew coming into this season we would have to transfer our tone,” said Gallagher about approaching his senior season. “We had to play different roles than before, since we were playing bigger powerhouses such as St. Augustine Prep and Atlantic City.”
